Xbox Live’s Schappert To Keynote TGS
Xbox Live boss John Schappert will give a keynote address at the Tokyo Game Show next month, with a speech called "A Canvas for the World".
Schappert, officially Microsoft's corporate VP of Live, software and sales, will discuss how the Xbox 360 hopes to "bring more people together than ever before to enjoy the next wave of interactive entertainment experiences."
Microsoft has always maintained a strong presence at previous Tokyo Game Shows, despite limited success for the Xbox in Japan. This time, though, Schappert’s appearance will follow unusually strong sales of the Xbox 360, with stock still sold out in many shops and a significant price cut just announced. The release of major franchise RPG Tales of Vesperia is generally credited with giving the Xbox 360 its shot in the arm in Japan.
The 50-minute address will take place on Thursday, October 9th at 12pm, at the Makuhari Messe International Conference Hall in Tokyo. The Tokyo Game Show itself will begin on the same day and continue until Sunday, October 12th.
The first two days of the show are open only to press and industry visitors, while the second two days are open to the general public.
